The next step after assessment depends on your needs, preferences and clinical circumstances. We explain appropriate options and agree a plan with you.
This page also sets out our private medication treatment and its fees, for adults and for children and young people.

Practical support
Recommendations may include changes to everyday routines, the learning or working environment, and ways to manage organisation and attention. For children, support may also involve parents, carers and education settings.
We distinguish between information included in your care and additional services, such as therapy or structured coaching, that may need to be arranged separately.
Medication and titration
If medication is appropriate, a prescribing clinician reviews the relevant health information and discusses the options before treatment begins.
Titration is the initial period of adjusting treatment and reviewing its effects. Your care plan explains the reviews and monitoring required, and what to do if you have concerns.
Ongoing reviews
Treatment needs can change over time. Your clinician will explain when reviews are needed and how physical monitoring will be arranged.
Contact the clinical team if your treatment or health circumstances change rather than waiting for a routine review.
Shared care with your GP
Once medication is stable, shared care may allow your GP to take over prescribing while specialist review continues. We can request this where appropriate, but acceptance cannot be guaranteed.
If the GP declines, we explain what that means for your particular pathway and discuss the next steps. Private patients should allow for ongoing private prescribing and pharmacy costs unless an alternative arrangement is agreed.

Optional medication treatment: £695 for 12 weeks
Titration is the process of introducing medication and adjusting it to find a suitable treatment and dose.
Your programme includes
- A prescribing consultation and review of the health information needed before treatment.
- An individual treatment and monitoring plan.
- Regular clinical reviews during the programme.
- Review of your response, side effects and monitoring information.
- Prescription writing during the programme.
- Routine questions about your treatment through our patient support channel.
- An end-of-titration review.
- A treatment summary and shared-care request to your GP when clinically appropriate.
You pay for this programme only after treatment has been agreed. The 12-week period starts when medication initiation begins.
Medication is not included. You pay the pharmacy separately, and the cost depends on the medication and dose.
Some people need longer than 12 weeks. Further titration costs £150 per additional four weeks. We will discuss the reasons and costs before extending your programme.

Option A
Your GP accepts shared care
£240 a year
Annual specialist review, routine GP correspondence and shared-care documentation.
Option B
Rainbow continues private prescribing
£39 a month
Routine repeat prescription writing, six-monthly medication reviews, an annual comprehensive review and routine treatment support.
You pay for the applicable option, not both. The £39 monthly plan has no separate annual review or membership charge. Pharmacy medication costs remain additional. A substantial change of medication may require a new period of titration. We will explain any additional fees before that care begins.
Shared care is an arrangement in which your GP agrees to take over prescribing while your specialist remains involved in reviewing your treatment. We can request it when it is appropriate, but your GP decides whether to accept it. If your GP declines, we will explain your options, including continued private prescribing with Rainbow where clinically appropriate. You should not assume that an NHS GP will take over your prescriptions after a private assessment.
Private care · Ages 6–17
Children and young people
Children's treatment is planned around their age, needs and development. We involve the young person and their parent or carer appropriately, and explain how information from home and education can support care.
Medication is a separate clinical decision. Your clinician will discuss the options with you and your child, taking account of their needs, preferences and relevant health information. If medication is agreed, treatment begins with a period of titration: introducing medication and reviewing its effects to find a suitable treatment and dose.
Reviews consider how your child is getting on, possible side effects and physical monitoring, including growth, blood pressure and pulse where required. We explain what information to provide and how monitoring will be arranged.
£795 for the initial 12 weeks
The programme includes the prescribing consultation, a treatment and monitoring plan, regular clinical reviews, prescription writing, routine treatment questions and an end-of-titration review. It also includes a treatment summary and a shared-care request where appropriate.
You pay only after treatment is agreed. The 12-week period begins when medication initiation starts. Medication is paid for separately at the pharmacy.
The length of titration varies. If further titration is needed, it costs £175 per additional four weeks. We explain the reasons and fees before extending treatment.

Ongoing care and shared care
Once treatment is stable, we agree a care plan and explain who will carry out physical monitoring and specialist reviews.
Option A
GP accepts shared care
£360 a year
Two scheduled specialist reviews per year, with the annual comprehensive review included in one of these appointments, plus routine GP correspondence and review of monitoring information.
Option B
Rainbow continues private prescribing
£59 a month
Routine repeat prescription writing, two scheduled specialist reviews per year with an annual comprehensive review included, review of monitoring information and routine treatment support.
You pay for the applicable option, not both. The monthly plan has no additional annual membership or prescription-writing fee. Pharmacy medication costs remain separate.
Monitoring is arranged according to the young person's needs and age; it is not limited to the two scheduled appointments. We explain any separately arranged physical checks and charges in advance. A significant treatment change may require renewed titration, with its price discussed before it starts.
Where appropriate, we can ask your GP to take over prescribing under a shared-care arrangement. Acceptance is the GP's decision and cannot be guaranteed. If shared care is not accepted, we discuss continued private care where suitable and explain the associated fees. Medication supplied privately is paid for separately from clinical care.

These fees apply to our private medication treatment. They exclude medication, which you pay for separately at the pharmacy, and any separately arranged physical investigations. We will explain any additional requirements and costs before you commit to them.

Private adult care
Adult assessment costs £295 with AI-assisted information gathering or £595 for a fully human assessment; a doctor makes the diagnostic decision in both. The optional titration programme above is available after either option.
Private children's care
For ages 6–17, assessment costs £895 and involves the young person, their parents or carers and information from education.

Questions about treatment
Can I have an assessment without taking medication?
Yes. You can book an assessment without committing to medication or ongoing paid care.
Will I receive medication at my assessment?
Medication is not automatic. If ADHD is diagnosed and medication may be appropriate, a prescribing clinician will review whether treatment is suitable before it begins.
How soon can treatment start?
Assessment and treatment have separate appointment schedules. If you are considering medication, our team will explain current treatment-start availability.
Does a diagnosis mean my child must take medication?
No. Treatment decisions are discussed individually. We explain appropriate options and support you and your child to understand them.
